Important: You may need to pay any tickets or fines owing to ICBC, B.C. Courts and/or the Province of B.C. before you can renew or replace your licence.
Renewing your licence
You can renew up to six months before your licence expires. Just visit any driver licensing office. No appointment is necessary.
Important: It’s illegal to drive with an expired licence.
What do I need to bring?
You'll need to bring:
- one piece of primary and one piece of secondary identification, and
- a fee of $75.

Replacing your lost or stolen licence
If your licence was lost, stolen or damaged, replace it by visiting any driver licensing office. No appointment is necessary.
What do I need to bring?
You'll need to bring:
- one piece of primary and one piece of secondary identification, and
- a fee of $17 if your licence expires in more than six months, or $75 if your licence expires within six months.
If your licence expired more than three years ago, you may need to bring documents to show you have been driving within the last 3 years or you will be required to be re-tested for your driver’s licence.
